# Made the deck in ChatGPT Slides? Send the client one link.

   Slides is built for your team. Your client gets a page. ChatGPT Slides shares a deck with teammates in Space, as view or edit. A client needs something else: one private link that opens in any browser with no account, shows you who read it, and takes their comments without letting them change your slides.

     How to share a ChatGPT Slides deck with a client, in four steps:

  - Get the deck as a page. In the chat where you made it, ask ChatGPT for the same deck as one self-contained HTML file, one slide per screen with arrow-key navigation. In a hurry? Export the deck to PDF on the web instead.
- Publish it as a private link. With the Stacktree app connected in ChatGPT, ask it to publish the deck and it returns a private link in the chat. Or drop the HTML or PDF on the Stacktree dashboard. Add a passcode if the numbers are confidential.
- Send each reader their own link. On the page's screen, type a reader's name in Who is this for? and copy their link. On Solo you see who opened it, by name, and when, so you know whether the pre-read was read.
- Turn their comments into the next version. The client comments on the exact slide, with no account. Ask ChatGPT to read the comments and revise the deck, and the same link shows the new version.
  The prompt is [below](#ask-for-html). ChatGPT's own sharing options are in the [table](#slides-sharing).

## How do you share a ChatGPT Slides deck with a client?

Send it as a page, not a Space invite. Ask ChatGPT for the deck as one HTML file, or export it to PDF, and publish it on Stacktree as a private link. The client opens it in any browser with no account, comments on the exact slide, and you see who opened it before the meeting.

## What ChatGPT Slides sharing does

 ChatGPT Slides arrived on 16 October 2026, with real-time editing and shared comments for teammates. As of 20 October, per OpenAI's help center, these are the ways a deck leaves ChatGPT:

    Route Who can open it Client needs an account Comments, passcode, who opened it Share from Space People you choose, as view or edit, if your workspace allows it Yes, they open it in their own ChatGPT Shared comments, but no comment-only access at launch. No passcode. No record of opens. Present from ChatGPT Whoever is in the room or on your screen share No Nothing to send afterwards Export to PowerPoint or PDF Whoever gets the file No A file: it can be forwarded, and you never learn whether it was opened Export to Google Slides Whoever you share the Google file with Depends on the file's Google sharing Google's comments and sharing controls Stacktree page Anyone you send the link to No Comments and suggested edits on every plan. Passcode on every plan. Who opened it from Solo.
The detail that matters most for client work: OpenAI says comment-only access isn't available at launch. In Space, a client you want feedback from gets view, which cannot comment, or edit, which can rewrite your slides. The rules for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot are side by side on [who can open what your AI made](/ai-sharing-rules).

## Ask ChatGPT for the deck as one page

 Slides exports to PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides, not to a web page, so ask for the page in the same chat. Add this to your request:

```
`Turn this deck into one self-contained HTML file: inline CSS and
JavaScript, no external fonts or images. One slide per screen,
arrow keys and a click to advance, a slide counter, and F for full
screen. Keep the charts as live HTML or SVG, not pictures. Put
each slide's title in an h2. It must read well on a phone. It is
for Dana Lee, CEO of Acme.`
```

 Live charts are what a PDF throws away: the client can hover a number instead of squinting at a screenshot of it. A title per slide lets a client approve the plan and question the budget separately, because Stacktree treats each main heading as a section to sign off. Phone-friendly matters because a pre-read is often opened on a phone. To see the format first, open the [live example board deck](https://example-presentation.stacktr.ee/), built by an AI agent the same way.

## Publish it from ChatGPT, or drop the file

 With [the Stacktree app in ChatGPT](/chatgpt), ask it to publish the deck and the private link comes back in the same chat. No file to save. Without the app, save the HTML and drop it on the dashboard, or paste it in. Either way you get a page at an unguessable address that appears in no search index.

 Short on time? Export the deck to PDF on the web and drop the PDF on the dashboard. Stacktree shows it in the browser with an Open the PDF link for phones, which handle PDFs in their own viewer. You lose the live charts and keep everything else on this page. A PowerPoint file is not shown as a page, so export the PDF or ask for HTML instead.

## Send each reader their own link

 On the page's screen, type a reader's name in Who is this for? and use Copy their link, once per person: the decision maker, finance, the person who will run the project. On Solo each named link records when its reader opened the deck, so "did you get a chance to look?" becomes "Sam has read it, Dana has not." A passcode works on every plan, and from Solo you can limit the deck to `@theirclient.com` instead, so a forwarded link stops at the door.

## Turn their comments into the next version

 The client clicks the slide they have a view on and leaves a comment pinned to it, or selects the words and suggests new ones. Nobody needs an account, and nothing changes on the page until you accept it. Then ask ChatGPT, with the Stacktree app connected, to read the comments and fix the slides they point at. It updates the same page, marks the comments resolved, and the link the client already has shows the new deck. More on the loop: [the client feedback loop](/client-feedback-loop).

 When the deck is a proposal, ask for sign-off at the end. Each reader approves the whole deck, or each slide section, against the version they read. That is a record of agreement, not an e-signature. The proposal version of this page is [sharing an HTML proposal with a client](/share-html-proposal-with-client).

## When Space sharing is the right call

 Keep using Slides' own sharing inside your team. Real-time editing with colleagues, comments that ask ChatGPT or your dot to make the change, and presenting straight from ChatGPT are what Slides is for, and a Stacktree page does not replace them. The page is for the step after: the version that leaves the building. For decks in general, see [sending a deck as a link](/send-deck-as-link).

FAQ

## Frequent questions

     How do I share a ChatGPT Slides deck with someone outside my company? + ChatGPT Slides shares a deck from Space with the people you choose, as view or edit, under your workspace's sharing settings, and OpenAI's help pages describe no public link. For a client, export the deck to PDF or PowerPoint, or ask ChatGPT for the same deck as one HTML page and publish it as a private link the client opens with no account. Can a client comment on a ChatGPT Slides deck without being able to edit it? + Not at launch. OpenAI's help page says comment-only access isn't available at launch, so a reviewer who can comment in Space can also change the slides. On a Stacktree page, any reader can comment on a slide or suggest new wording with no account, and nothing they do changes the page until you accept it. Who can use ChatGPT Slides? + OpenAI says Slides is on ChatGPT Pro, Business and Enterprise for accounts with Space access, rolling out from 16 October 2026, on the web and in the desktop app. On Windows devices without the required MXC component, the desktop app makes PowerPoint files instead, so OpenAI suggests the web or cloud mode for collaborative Slides. Can I just send the PowerPoint export? + Yes, as an attachment. It arrives as a file: fonts can change on the client's machine, a heavy deck can pass the 25 MB Gmail limit, and you never learn whether it was opened. Stacktree does not show a .pptx as a page, so for a link either export the PDF or ask ChatGPT for the deck as HTML. Can ChatGPT publish the deck to Stacktree itself? + Yes, with the Stacktree app connected in ChatGPT. Ask it to turn the deck into one HTML page and publish it to Stacktree, and the private link comes back in the chat. Later, ask it to read the client's comments and fix the slides they point at: it updates the same page, so the link you sent still works. Does the client need an account to open the deck? + No. A Stacktree link opens in any browser, on a laptop or a phone, with no ChatGPT or Stacktree account. A passcode works on every plan, Free included, and from Solo you can limit the deck to the client's company email domain instead, with a one-time email link at the door. Can I see whether the client opened the deck before the meeting? + Yes, on Solo ($19 a month) and up. Send each reader their own named link and the page shows who opened it and when. Studio adds time on page and how far they read, which for a pre-read tells you whether the recommendation slide was reached. ChatGPT Slides describes no record of who opened a deck.
